Mark Grychczynski

Mark Grychczynski was born in Poland where he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland.

After graduation he decided to gain more inspiration for his work from the Nature itself, so he built a sailing boat and embarked in 1980 on a two-year sailing trip to rugged and challenging places like the Galapagos Islands, Alaska Peninsula and Aleutian Islands.

What he has seen, is reflected in his works which are distinctly organic and sometimes contain animalistic elements.

Reflection of the ocean, the wind and the life in its primeval form are sculpted in clay, glazed and then fired to stoneware.

He also works in other media, such as oil and acrylic painting and ink drawing.
